But the final result didn't pleased me!! Ok, the fact is that I didn't expect a new ' Pornograffitti' but, at least, I wanted something in the vain of their very good third album. The truth is that ' Saudades De Rock' is way better than ' Waiting For The Punchline'!!! I have to say that it was a really great pleasure to have a new album from my all time funk metal 'heroes'. After thirteen years, Extreme came back with their brand new album which was called 'Saudades De Rock'. A couple of really good tracks didn't save the final result.
It was an album far away from their huge sound of their previous three works. With 'Waitin' For The Punchline' in 1995, the band lost the majority of their fans. ' III sides to every story' was a bit 'softer' but, overall, a very good release with some excellent tracks in it. Their first two albums are superb pieces of funky hair metal stuff. It was the band's first album of new material since 1995's Waiting for the Punchline, and also their first release with new drummer Kevin Figueiredo.Įxtreme is one of my all time favourite bands. Saudades de Rock is Extreme's fifth studio album, released on August 12, 2008.
